A. R. Riley presents, in collaboration with Evilcorp, our monthly Dark Poetry Night to celebrate all that is dark and spooky. No prior experience or skill is needed to share the written word with your fellows guys and ghouls, only the love of words and courage to share your work with the community.
Read your own poetry, lyrics, written word, or perform the work of someone you admire.

Write something for our monthly challenge!

Each month Amy will give us a “prompt” that artists’ must use in an original piece. You may interpret this line/prompt in any way that you choose, as long as it is incorporated somehow. Each month there will be a prize to be won. Winner will be decided by your peers and fellow artists, so bring along all your best supporters!
For Thursday June 4th’s Dark Poetry Night and in conjunction with Pride Month, the prompt is:

"....Self Discovery (Pride)...."

It’s PRIDE MONTH once again and it’s time for artists to share their stories on SELF DISCOVERY. ALLIES WELCOME! Artists don’t have to identity as LGBTIQA+ to share their stories. SELF DISCOVERY is about EXPRESSION! How did you find your STYLE? What was your sexual AWAKENING? What’s your HEAR ME OUT? Have you ever had a QUEER experience? Did you like it? Maybe you didn’t. Write to your HEART’S content! “We are born naked and everything else is DRAG.” A PRIZE for the most compelling poem will be awarded, and decided, by YOUR PEERS on the night.
So bring your best supporters!
An OPEN MIC will be held AFTER the competition. OPEN MIC has NO limitations or theme.

Please note, once your registration has been received and accepted, Amy will reach out via email to have your send your piece prior to the night. This is so it can be vetted for content. Amy will then let you know if you need to begin your reading with a content warning.
